If you're going to participate in the discussions of Overmind, you must follow these terms, and understand the conditions to accessing the website.
- Ye olde faithful rule. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
- Every time a page is viewed on Overmind, the IP of the connection is logged. We use this These IP Addreses to make marketing decesions such as bandwidth to purchase. We also use it to ban IP addresses from accessing the website. Each comment matches to the IP recorded so we can get the correct offender. Please understand, we will not abuse your privacy doing this. Also, understand, we have technology to deny proxy access to banned IP addresses.
- Each article comment requests a name, email and website to go along with the comment. The name is so other users can identify you, and the email is for the gravatar application. See: http://en.gravatar.com/. Administrators are given access to this email upon moderating comments. So that if the comment is abusive, offensive or anything that may require immediate attention, action can be taken. The website is however a shameless plug to show where you come from, and is not vital. Please understand your email is NOT shared with any third party, and remains confidential between moderating administrators and you.
- Overmind stores cookies on your computer. This is not a danger to you, as they are only there to save login details from the forum, save details in the article comment form, and to stop major spam attempts. This will not effect you, however is a condition to using these features that you have cookies enabled.
- After three warnings, your IP Address will be banned. If you wish to appeal for it to be un-banned, please email appeals@overmind.co.nz to appeal to us. Remember, if you are banned, it's probably for a more than good reason. Warnings come in the format that suits you. It maybe in the comments, or a direct email.
- Please do not conduct giant discussions in the article chats. Move these to the forums. We will not approve comments that do not follow this term of use.
- We will not tolerate any biased flaming on any individual. If you are found to be targeting a certain user, you will be warned.
- Be a nice civilized person in all of your responses and opinions. Also to be civilized in the forums.
- You agree to type in English that is understandable. Please, try to use grammar and capital letters at proper points.
